A four-day exploration of one of China's most dynamic cities
Shanghai is a showcase for China’s fast-paced modernization and rise as a financial and cultural power. From its futuristic skyline to its trendy boutiques and art galleries, there is no mistaking the city's importance in China’s promising future. Amidst this rush toward the new, however, Shanghai’s captivating history lives on in its side streets, local restaurants and outstanding museums. Our three-night extension explores both facets of China’s largest city. A trip to the top of the tallest building in China and a stroll along the famous Bund afford us breathtaking views of Shanghai’s architectural splendors. History unfolds with a walking tour of the French Concession colonial district and a visit to the superb Shanghai Museum, housing one of the world’s finest collections of Chinese art. A day in the lovely water town of Suzhou caps our Shanghai finale to an extraordinary Chinese odyssey.

Getting There & Getting Home
You will fly from Chengdu to Shanghai on the final day of your Wild & Ancient China Adventure and spend three nights in Shanghai. You can schedule your departing flight from Shanghai at any time on the final day of the extension.
