Before your safari departs, be sure you don't miss the many attractions of Nairobi, East Africa's most important city. Natural Habitat Adventures has arranged an expertly guided tour of some of Nairobi's most interesting highlights for those who wish to spend an additional day here. The program takes place one day prior to the departure of each Great Kenya Migration Safari. Included are the famous Giraffe Center, established to protect the endangered Rothschild's giraffe found only in the grasslands of East Africa; Daphne Sheldrick's elephant orphanage; and the Karen Blixen Museum, the former African home of the Danish author who gained fame for her memoir Out of Africa, chronicling life at the estate in the early 20th century. There will also be an opportunity to shop for local handicrafts, time permitting. Overnight accommodations are included at House of Waine.
