Physical Requirements
Easy / Moderate
Our North Pole expedition does not require a high degree of physical fitness, but you must be sufficiently mobile. You will need to make your way down a steep, narrow gangway on the side of the ship to board inflatable Zodiacs for shore excursions and for sea ice exploration. You must be able to walk unassisted for short distances over rough and uneven terrain including ice and snow, in order to participate in this adventure. Travel via Zodiac occurs in variable conditions, including sea ice, and can sometimes be quite bumpy. If it's windy, you may get wet from sea spray. Travelers with back problems or other health issues that could be exacerbated by such conditions should take this into consideration. Travelers must be prepared for any type of weather, including extreme conditions. Rough seas may cause issues for those who are prone to motion sickness. We recommend that you discuss medication with your physician, if this may be a problem for you.
Important Information About This Trip
