Our Morocco Adventure is Really Different!
If you're in the mood for high adventure on a truly exploratory journey, you won’t find another experience to match our Morocco nature odyssey… Because as far as we know, we are the only ones who offer this unusual trip! Here’s what makes it so special:
- A Uniquely Nature-Focused Itinerary
Morocco is a surprisingly biodiverse country with diverse geography, from snow-clad mountains to desert dunes and ocean coasts. Our itinerary focuses on those natural areas including the national parks and reserves that protect Morocco’s multitude of native and endangered species. This nature-oriented itinerary is ours alone—not to mention exceptionally comprehensive.
- Travel with a Very Small Group—No More Than 9 Guests
We’ve deliberately kept this trip to a maximum of just eight guests to ensure an intimate experience of Morocco’s nature and rural cultural encounters. This allows us to guarantee a window seat for everyone, too—on longer travel days we have lots of room to spread out in our spacious van. While exploring the desert and High Atlas we divide our group into two 4x4 vehicles, each with a guide.
- Unique & Authentic Accommodations
From luxurious kasbahs to a classic desert encampment, our accommodations are a highlight in their own right. Rather than relying on large chain hotels that most organized tours use, we have carefully selected smaller, one-of-a-kind hotels and guesthouses in secluded settings that provide a personalized experience of Morocco’s famous hospitality. Most incorporate traditional Moroccan architecture and décor, often with lavish gardens, and offer luxurious comforts. Some have traditional hammam spas. The food is also a special highlight.
- We See More Than Most…Including Three Different Mountain Ranges!
Most visitors to Morocco are surprised at how mountainous the country is. And it is these many ranges that provide the water (via melting snow and mists) that nurtures its wide array of flora and fauna. We travel through the High Atlas and Anti Atlas ranges, observing the varied vegetation and habitats of each, which differs markedly with elevation, as well as the Middle Atlas range on our Fes extension.
- An Authentic—Not Contrived—Luxury Sahara Safari Camp
Many Morocco itineraries include an overnight in the desert, but most travelers don’t realize that this “secluded” experience is one they will share with lots of other travelers in a very commercialized setting. Our Sahara camp is very different. We visit a more remote sector of the desert at Erg Chigaga, where few tourists go. And when we get there, our exclusive private desert encampment is ours alone, not a shared mega-camp with dozens of other tourists. You’ll experience quiet and solitude on a scale you never imagined—because we’ve set it up that way.
- Two Dedicated Guides for Just Nine Guests
That’s a pretty impressive guide-to-guest ratio. And it means you’ll have a better, fuller and more personalized experience as a result. We travel with our own NHA Expedition Leader—a seasoned guide with extensive overall trip management experience—as well as a Moroccan national guide throughout who provides the extra expertise in culture and language. In addition, we’ll have the resources of local guides in the Middle Atlas and High Atlas. You won’t find a richer interpretive experience! As always, our NHA Expedition Leader embodies the world-class guide standards that Natural Habitat is renowned for. See Expedition Leader bios with traveler comments regarding the quality of our leaders.
