Expedition Botswana
A Classic Tented Safari that Reveals the Best of Remote Botswana
Can you imagine the sight and sound of a hundred elephants marching by your Land Rover at close range? In the wilds of Botswana, that’s not unheard of. In fact, Botswana offers a safari experience evocative of earlier days, when the African wilderness was uncrowded and synonymous with adventure. Our private expedition camps make that possible still, situated deep in the bush where a plethora of game resides, from rare sitatunga antelope to regal prides of lion. A commitment to small-scale eco-travel is sustaining vast animal populations in Botswana, and we can’t wait to share the wonders with you.
- Our renowned safari Expedition Leaders take you to exclusive private reserves for superb game viewing available nowhere else
- Explore remote waterways of the Okavango Delta, teeming with wildlife, by dugout canoe

Group Size Limit
Approximately 8 Travelers
A very important feature of our trips is the limited group size as nature expeditions are best experienced with smaller sized groups of travelers.
Our Specialized 4 x 4 Land Rovers or Land Cruisers
An essential element of this safari is our use of a combination of two specialized vehicles during different parts of the trip, allowing for the unmatched game viewing opportunities promised by Natural Habitat Adventures. At times, we will travel in semi-open-sided 4 x 4 Stretch Land Cruisers or Land Rovers, allowing for enhanced game viewing and a comfortable and safe ride over the sometimes uneven terrain of Botswana's desert and delta environs. Roof hatches add to the open safari experience, while additional comfort is ensured with secured drop-down plastic flaps used during longer transfers to provide respite from dust or rain. We will also use open 4 x 4 Land Rovers or Land Cruisers, with a unique suspension system and an open-top, open-sided, tiered seating arrangement, specially-designed to maximize game viewing opportunities and comfort.
Both kinds of vehicles have 10 cushioned passenger seats, one in front next to the driver, followed by three rows of three seats each, though we limit our capacity to just eight travelers, again for maximum comfort and viewing. Both offer a mini-fridge stocked with cold drinks and a small library with reference books and field guides. Each custom-built vehicle sports front bull bars and runner boards, as well as a full recovery kit, including spare tires and a high lift jack. Vehicles are updated or replaced regularly and meticulously maintained to provide our guests with an unmatched safari experience.

Important Information
We have designed this trip for those guests whose African dreams include the most remote wildlife experience available and don’t mind more simple accommodations to accomplish that goal. An added benefit is that the rate is great. We have combined luxury permanent tented camps (all amenities en suite) with our special Adventurer Camps to provide comfort while enhancing the total safari experience. On these trips changes to the itinerary may occur in order to take advantage of conditions unique to the season. Depending upon availability, itineraries may run in a different order.
