Wintertime Yellowstone Accommodations
Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
The accommodations chosen for this trip are designed to take us as close as possible to the wildlife and the scenic areas of Yellowstone and Grand Teton. Some are fancier than others but all are clean and comfortable and have private facilities. They are generally western in motif. An extremely important feature that we have arranged for this trip is the use of privately chartered snow vehicles during some portions of the itinerary. These allow us to exclusively set our itinerary around the best wildlife viewing, enabling us to stop and view animals when and where we like, and to spend an evening in the secluded Old Faithful Snow Lodge, which is not accessible by road during the winter months. This classic, but newly built, accommodation affords us access to the wild areas we cherish. In Cooke City on Yellowstone’s northeast edge, we stay at the Alpine Motel, where simple but comfortable rooms provide a convenient base in proximity to the remote Lamar Valley. In Jackson, enjoy the comfort and convenience of the lovely Lexington at Jackson Hole, a Western-style lodge centrally located and just down the road from the world famous elk refuge. In Bozeman, we stay at the GranTree Inn, located just one mile from historic downtown.
