Home Accommodations Koa Kea

Koa Kea

Location
Koloa, Kauai

Koa Kea is Kauai's newest and most sophisticated luxury boutique hotel, situated directly on Poipu Beach on Kauai's sunny south shore. The oceanfront exposure allows guests to enjoy both sunrises and sunsets over the water. Opened in 2009 after a complete rebuild, the hotel is upscale without being pretentious, harking back to its original mid-century roots with stylish, retro-modern decor.

The hotel's 121 guest rooms were custom-designed to feature fresh, cool colors inspired by the sea and furniture with sleek, tailored lines. Every aspect of the hotel, including the rooms, is designed to highlight the exterior views. Windows are draped in sheer fabric, allowing the sun and sea breeze to become a part of the in-room experience. All rooms include private lanai, flat-screen HD television with Video on Demand, iPod docking station, wireless Internet, Nespresso espresso machine, refrigerator, dual head shower, bathrobe and hair dryer, ceiling fan, individually controlled air conditioning, desk, in-room safe and L'Occitane bath toiletries.

Red Salt is Koa Kea's contemporary restaurant whose floor-to-ceiling picture windows look onto the pool terrace and expanse of ocean beyond. Casual yet sophisticated, Red Salt offers a menu that highlights fresh Hawaiian seafood and local produce. A daily breakfast buffet is served, featuring fresh tropical fruit, an omelet station and traditional breakfast specialties. Koa Kea's luxurious Spa, in keeping with the rest of the hotel, draws inspiration from the natural landscape of Hawaii to create a peaceful and calming sanctuary. Treatments incorporate natural and indigenous ingredients, such as seaweed, pineapple, awapuhi root, red Kauai clay, maile, pikake, guava and coconut. Outdoors, a large swimming pool and expansive patio with plenty of comfortable lounge chairs enjoy full views of the ocean.
