The word “luxury” means different things to different people. So, too, has its meaning changed over the years. In days gone by, “luxury” often referred to a level of opulence available to a select few. Today, many of those sorts of traditional luxuries are widely available and are no longer the exclusive domain of the very wealthy. While the fine amenities at many of our accommodations certainly meet the standard definition of “luxury,” our sense of the word goes far beyond silver table settings or high thread-count linens.
To us, “luxury” encompasses the overall experience we offer to nature travelers. “Luxury” is staying at a mobile lodge positioned on the remote tundra in the heart of wild polar bear habitat, flying by small chartered plane to go deeper into the Alaskan bush, or putting on a pair of night-vision goggles to view wildlife after sunset. “Luxury” is venturing off the beaten path in the company of the most knowledgeable and experienced Expedition Leaders in the world. So, while you don’t have to sacrifice comfort when you join us on an adventure, we know you’ll appreciate our far more inclusive definition of what constitutes “luxury”!
