Florida Nature Safari

Accommodations

Hotel Indigo
Location
Fort Myers, Florida

Located in the heart of the colorful downtown River District, Hotel Indigo offers stylish boutique accommodations in a historic building in the Fort Myers' oldest, and now hippest, area. Surrounded by red brick streets and Art Deco architecture, Hotel Indigo is just steps from unique shops, art galleries, cafes and lively bars that make the City of Palms a popular visitor destination. The hotel's rooftop bar and pool offering broad views over the city that stretches along the Caloosahatchee River, gaining fame early in the 20th century when it became the winter home of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford. The hotel captures that historic ambience, blending it with contemporary flair and amenities. Interiors feature dark woods and rich textiles contrasting with a white and cream palette. Rooms have one king or two queen beds, spacious bathrooms with a walk-in rain shower and Aveda toiletries, flat screen cable TV, MP3 dock, telephone, complimentary Wi-Fi, tea and coffee maker, and a safe. While there is no restaurant in the hotel itself, it is next to the historic Post Office Arcade, which offers numerous dining options for guests who may arrive early and want to find a meal.
Olde Marco Island Inn & Suites
Location
Marco Island, Florida

This inviting waterfront inn, whose original building dates to 1883, offers spacious, comfortable, deluxe accommodations in two-bedroom condo suites that blend Marco Island's “old Florida” atmosphere with contemporary style and amenities. Located on the island’s quiet north end, the inn offers an ideal base from which to explore the largest barrier island in the Ten Thousand Islands area, with its six miles of sandy beaches, more than 100 miles of waterways, and extensive mangroves. Individually furnished condos feature tropical colors and design touches such as wicker headboards and chairs, hardwood and tile floors, and sisal area rugs. All units have a private screened lanai, full kitchen with stainless appliances and granite countertops, flat screen cable TV with DVD player, complimentary Wi-Fi, telephone, two bedrooms with a king and two queen beds, bedroom ceiling fans, and bathrooms featuring fine natural bath amenities from Lather. An inviting swimming pool is shaded by palm trees and lush vegetation, with chaise longues and umbrellas tables for relaxing. Boutiques and bistros are right out the front door.
Baker's Cay Resort
Location
Key Largo, Florida

Inspired by its incomparable natural setting, newly built Baker's Cay Resort offers "barefoot luxury" and dreamy beachfront accommodations with rustling palms, fine powder sand and transparent turquoise water right out the door. From the private beach fronting the 13-acre grounds, go swimming, snorkeling or paddleboarding, or laze in a hammock shaded by palm fronds. From the private balcony of your waterfront guest room, watch the sunset over Florida Bay. Decor features sleek, modernist furnishings in soothing nature-inspired tones and textures. One king or two queen beds are crisply attired in top-quality cotton linens. Amenities include a mini fridge, coffee maker with high-quality single-serve blends, and custom bath toiletries featuring locally sourced Keez-Beez Honey and citrus infusions. Dining at Baker's Cay is a highlight, with creative "dock to dish" Florida cuisine served in the light and airy Dry Rocks restaurant or outdoors on the open-air terrace. Fresh seafood and produce are sourced locally, while herbs and fruits are harvested from gardens on site. Enjoy cocktails from the thatched Tiki Bar on the beach, or poolside at the Pool Bar. An understated nautical/Caribbean ambience prevails, complementing the clean, contemporary design throughout.

Almond Tree Inn
Location
Key West, Florida

In the heart of Old Town Key West, this award-winning boutique inn provides a private and serene stay that's more like a personalized bed and breakfast than a hotel. Though lively Duval Street is just steps away, the inn's 22 rooms offer a quiet enclave in an oasis-like setting. Well-appointed guest rooms open onto lushly landscaped tropical gardens with a waterfall and koi pond.  Deluxe rooms have a private porch or patio, one king or two queen beds, 42-inch flat screen HDTV, phone with voicemail, free Wi-Fi, Keurig coffee makers with gourmet coffee, mini refrigerator, microwave and digital safe. Bathrooms have Egyptian cotton robes for two, spa-quality bath amenities and hair dryers. Enjoy nightly turndown service with a Valrhona chocolate on your pillow. Lounge on the deck next to the swimming pool and unwind in the whirlpool spa. The inn is just a 4-minute walk to the historic Key West lighthouse and less than 10 minutes on foot to the Southernmost Point.
