Physical Requirements
Easy to Moderate / Flexible
Tracking wolves in Yellowstone will be in snowy, icy and/or wet conditions, and can get extremely cold. Our days generally start quite early and are very full with activities. Hikes and snowshoe excursions require moderate physical exertion and range from 1-3 miles in length over level ground or slight inclines, though snow and ice may create rough terrain. A good amount of wildlife viewing takes place from our vehicles. Travelers should be prepared to spend extended periods of time outside in very cold temperatures. While travelers are not required to participate in all activities, should you opt out of the day’s scheduled activities, we cannot always guarantee that alternatives will be available.
Important Information About This Trip
This trip is perfect for those interested primarily in photography and wolves, as we will spend ample time with local wildlife photographers and focus five full days on looking for wolves in the northern part of the park where they are most often seen. Travelers must understand that even though to date we have had a 100% wolf-sighting rate on our trips, these are very secretive animals and they may or may not come within close range. Much of our wolf viewing is done through spotting scopes to allow the wolves to go about their normal behavior.
Mandatory Insurance
