Colby Brokvist
Colby hails originally from New England and has traveled and guided extensively throughout North America. Colby is an avid rock and ice climber and has backpacked some of the country’s most famous destinations, including the Appalachian and John Muir trails. Backed by a degree in Environmental Science, his guiding passion lies in providing interpretive and educational experiences for his guests. The ability to strike a balance between the adventurous and relaxing aspects of nature travel continues to earn Colby praise as both a trip leader and planner. Colby has guided in destinations as diverse as Churchill, Manitoba, Namibia, the Everglades and Yosemite. He has been featured on National Geographic Weekend Radio and has worked on- and off-camera for various travel-related television productions. He is also a published travel and nature photographer and appeared on the television show On the Edge with Peter Lik. Colby lives just minutes outside Yosemite National Park, where in his free time he enjoys rock & ice climbing, backpacking, birding, and photography.

“We have been on many safaris and trips. The Expedition Leader is a critical individual to ensure a spectacular experience. Colby not only was knowledgeable but he also has a great sense of humor. He attended to not only our needs but to the needs of our entire group. We loved our time with Colby.”
S. Perry
“Colby - he was, by far, the best guide I've ever worked with. I've never toured with anyone so knowledgeable. (Is there anything he doesn't know about the arctic?) He was also super eager to make sure our trip was perfect in every way and truly went out of his way to make 100% sure everyone was completely happy at all times. And always, ALWAYS in a great mood! He loves his work and it really shows.“
A. Hertsberg
“Colby was an excellent guide. Could not have had a better experience! He was very knowledgeable, attentive and very effective in all the arrangements. We could not have been happier.”
J. Roche
“The only thing I can say about Colby is that he was wonderful. I never expected to learn so much about the bears and the area as we did during our time with him. He is a total asset to your company. He always kept us entertained.”
D. Breitkopf
“We just can't say enough good things about Colby. His encyclopedic knowledge and upbeat attitude made the trip even more memorable and enjoyable. Give the man a raise...”
