New Zealand Explorer

A guided nature adventure on the spectacular South Island of New Zealand!

Trip Overview
  • Visit six national parks, reflecting the scope of New Zealand’s protected natural treasures and dedication to ecotourism
  • Watch whales and seals frolic in the sea off Kaikoura and experience the local Maori culture
  • Cruise the fjords of Milford Sound, where waterfalls pour from glaciated peaks above

Among travelers who covet spectacular, off-the-beaten-path natural settings, New Zealand is legendary. We focus on the South Island, whose rugged coastline embraces a land of topographic extremes, from seaside rainforests and volcano craters to active glaciers and icy fjords. On this comprehensive itinerary, we are immersed in nature travel at its showiest. We also experience the human side of New Zealand, equally renowned. We meet sheep farmers, learn about Maori culture, and find a bit of Scottish heritage in the South Pacific. Our small group, guided expedition to top ecotourism destinations on South Island gives new meaning to adventure travel. Two weeks in New Zealand offers more excitement and diversity than two years in most other parts of the world!
