Discover Newfoundland
Immersion in the nature and history of the New World
Trip Overview
- Cruise amid remote islands, watching for humpback, minke and finback whales
- Experience the cacophony of some of the largest seabird colonies in the world
- Discover Newfoundland’s traditional fishing villages and unique maritime culture
Canada’s most easterly province of Newfoundland is indeed a realm of newfound discovery for travelers. Its rugged landscapes, glacier scenery, profuse wildlife and rich history and culture combine to create a wealth of surprises for adventurers seeking an ecotourism encounter with wildlife in its natural habitat. Here, humpback whale watching is spectacular as the world’s largest summer population plies the waters off the Avalon Peninsula; 35 million seabirds, including huge puffin colonies, adorn the cliffs of myriad islands; and inland, moose, caribou and bald eagles inhabit the northern forest. From the 400-year-old capital of St. John’s to far-flung bays and dramatic coastlines, Newfoundland offers new realms for exploration. Discover Newfoundland on an ecotourism adventure with Natural Habitat Adventures.
