Brazil: Pantanal, Iguacu & Beyond

A Small-Group Expedition into the Heart of One of South America’s Last Wild Frontiers
Our journey begins in the Brazilian hub of Rio de Janiero.Enjoy our hotel, located just steps from Ipanema Beach.Ipanema Beach, made famous by the song "The Girl from Ipanema", is known for its elegance and social qualities.Visit the Golden Lion Tamarin Conservation Project, where we learn about efforts to rebuild the population of these tiny creatures, once near extinction.Coatis, also known as Brazilian aardvarks, are among the interesting wildlife we will see while visiting Iguacu Falls.Iguacu Falls is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will have the opportunity to visit both sides of the falls, including Devil's Throat on the Argentine side. On the Brazilian side there is a long walkway along the canyon with an extension to the lower base of the “Garganta del Diablo”.At one point a person can stand and be surrounded by 260 degrees of waterfalls. During the Pantanal's dry season, in addition to nature walks, we may explore on horseback....... and in safari vehicles. With incredible luck, we may have the opportunity to spot the rare and elusive jaguar. The Pantanal is home to a staggering array of birdlife, including the Hyacinth Macaw.Join us on this adventure to Brazil's greatest natural highlights!
