Alfredo was born and raised in Mexico City. While studying biology at the National Polytechnic Institute, he got direct experience with wildlife by volunteering at a turtle camp, which played an integral role in a marine turtle conservation program. Ten years ago, Alfredo fell in love with rock climbing and mountaineering. Since then, he has participated in three mountain expeditions to the Cordillera Blanca (Peruvian Andes) and he currently leads national and international expeditions up Mexican volcanoes.
When he isn’t scaling mountains, Alfredo works to share his passion for nature in as many ways as possible. In this vein, he teaches at an environmental education center where he leads school groups in outdoor activities and environmental exercises to help increase their awareness of and love for nature. Alfredo also leads groups of business people at a coaching center. These integration courses, which are aimed at business executives, use outdoor activities and experiences in nature to teach how aspects of a “mountain philosophy," like effort, planning and leadership, can translate to the office. His enthusiasm, knowledge and ability to teach a wide range of people, make him an excellent leader in any situation.
