But it's not just the scope of this grand itinerary that stands out: it's a whole host of other value-added features you'll be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. Read on:
- A Small Groups Ensures Personal Nature Encounters
With just 20 guests aboard our private yacht, plus two highly trained Natural Habitat Expedition Leaders, you'll explore the Galapagos in a small group with no more than 8 to 10 other travelers—the best guide-to-guest ratio in the islands!
- Our Private Chartered Yacht Keeps Operations Under Our Control
Rather than sending you through a local ship operator that takes bookings from many sources, we run every aspect of our Galapagos trips—from meeting you on arrival in Quito through the chartering of vessel to escorting you to the Quito airport for your flight home. Only by managing each step of our operations can we can ensure that your trip is superlative—and we don’t settle for less!
- A Matchless Itinerary
Not only is this the most thorough Galapagos itinerary out there, we've designed it in partnership with our travel partner, WWF. WWF is especially active in the Galapagos, and this itinerary has been arranged with the input of some of the top wildlife biologists in the islands. Most ships travel only to the southern or central islands, yet we also visit Genovesa in the far north (the only place we’ll see rare red-footed boobies) and Fernandina, an active volcano that's home to flightless cormorants, in the west.
- Stay in Nature's Midst in our Private Treehouse Camp
Unique to our itinerary is an optional overnight at our exclusive 'safari' camp in the highlands of Santa Cruz, where wild tortoises roam freely through this lush parcel of private land overlooking the Pacific Ocean. We are the only visitors there!
- Secluded Snorkeling Experiences
Snorkeling is the highlight for many Galapagos travelers. You'll have many chances to swim alongside curious sea lions, sea turtles, penguins and schools of tropical fish in the islands’ transparent waters. But it can be disappointing, if you’re traveling aboard a larger vessel, to find more fellow snorkelers surrounding you in the water than marine creatures! Our small groups, accompanied by two Expedition Leaders, ensure a quiet experience, with marine life—and your safety—front and center.
- See More of Ecuador with a Hacienda Stay in the Andean Highlands
As if our comprehensive Galapagos itinerary weren't enough, we include a special complement your island adventures—a visit to the Andes highlands. We drive to the scenic mountain town of Otavalo where you'll enjoy a two-night stay at an authentic colonial hacienda set amid lavish gardens. From here, we'll visit a traditional village or two, emphasizing Ecuador's rich cultural and geographic diversity. And for those who don't want to miss Quito's historic highlights, we can arrange an optional Quito city tour before or after your trip—inquire with an Adventure Specialist for details.
