Amazon Lodge Extension

A journey into our planet's greatest ecosystem -- the Amazon Basin!

Trip Overview
  • Stay deep within the Amazon rainforest at a conservation-oriented jungle lodge
  • Explore the region and its profuse wildlife in small groups by trail and canoe
  • Climb into and above the rainforest in the lodge’s special canopy tower

Nearly half of all species living on this planet, both plants and animals, dwell in the rainforests. With more complexity and diversity than any other ecosystem on earth, the Amazon Basin holds a myriad of wonders for the nature traveler. In Ecuador the basin is called the Oriente, encompassing the vast wild jungle east of the Andes. The Napo Wildlife Center offers outstanding opportunities to experience the sensory drama of the Amazon. Day and night walks reveal monkeys, sloths, black caiman and a kaleidoscope of tropical birds, while dugout canoe journeys offer insight into the lives of the indigenous people.
