This adventure does not require a high degree of physical fitness, however, the walk through Tikal National Park is moderately demanding. In order to participate in this extension, travelers should be able to walk at least 1 mile unassisted over uneven terrain and potentially muddy, slippery surfaces, and up and down inclines involving some altitude gain. For adventurous travelers who would like to climb the ruins, please keep in mind that the steps are large and very steep and can be slippery, depending on weather conditions. Those who wish to climb the ruins will need to be in good physical condition with no fear of heights. We will be traveling by boat to our hotel. Travelers must be able to step in and out of the boat onto the dock and climb up and down stairs without assistance, in many cases without railings, and will have the option to zip line, swim and kayak. Travelers should be aware that the heat and humidity may be very high and roads may be bumpy.
