Sabi Sand Reserve
Beyond the western boundary of Kruger National Park lie a number of private game reserves, most sharing a border with Kruger and thus, all of the Big Five animals. Sabi Sand Reserve, adjacent to the famous park, encompasses smaller private game reserves, all within the larger Sabi Sand Reserve, including: Mala Mala, Londolozi, and Sabi Sabi. As there are no fences between the private game reserves and Kruger National Park, the wildlife can move unhindered between the two areas. About 300 species of bird in Sabi Sand have been observed including a diversity of summer migrants. A variety of snakes, lizards and tortoises and other reptiles have also been seen (mainly during the summer) in addition to a variety of insects and other invertebrates. A safari experience in these private game reserves will not disappoint.
