Amazon Lodge Extension

A journey into our planet's greatest ecosystem -- the Amazon Basin!
The Napo River runs all the way from the Ecuadorian highlands to the Amazon River. Your adventure begins before you even reach your remote Amazon lodge, when you travel by dugout canoe into the Amazon Basin. Part of the fun is getting there! On the river, you may see giant otters fishing along the shores, kingfishers perched in the overhanging branches, or several species of monkeys traveling through the forest. Once at the Napo River Lodge, you'll learn about its efforts to preserve the land and the traditions of the local Anagu peoples. The ten private cabanas at the lodge were constructed by the local community using traditional materials and designs to minimize impact on the surrounding rain forest.Your roomy cabana has one king-sized bed and one twin bed, a private bathroom with a constant supply of hot water, and a porch overlooking the serene Anangu Lake — complete with a hammock!Located within the Yasuni National Park, the Napo River Lodge maintains forested trails and boardwalks. You can watch from blinds as thousands of parrots and parakeets flock to the nearby licks. Quichua Indian guides will share stories of the rain forest spirits. Each evening, return to the comfort of the lodge and your Amazon cabana and immerse yourself in this captivating and wide-ranging ecosystem.Toucans on the trail, flocks of colorful tanagers flying at eye level, glowworms, and the twinkling eyes of black caimans on a canoe trip by moonlight. It's hard to describe the Amazon. Better to see it for yourself!
