Travelers must be able to walk unassisted a minimum of 2 miles over rough and uneven ground, as well as tolerate daily active excursions in potentially hot and humid conditions, in order to participate in this trip. The itinerary involves a number of short to medium-length nature and historical walks over a variety of terrain, including boardwalks, stone paths and unpaved forest trails that can be be rough, slippery and uneven with rocks and roots. We also visit cultural sites that include climbing steep and uneven stone steps to the top in order to view the surrounding landscapes. Note that there are 920 steps to reach the top of Mt. Popa Monastery and the walk must be undertaken without shoes and socks. Travel by vehicle and boat may be over variable conditions that can sometimes be quite bumpy. Note that wooden long-tail boats with bench-style seating will be used for exploration while in Khao Sok National Park. Those with back problems or other health issues that could be exacerbated by such conditions should take this into consideration.
Important Information About This Trip
Since the areas we travel to on this trip are remote and wild (that's why we go there!), we require medical evacuation insurance for our guests' safety. If you decline the medical evacuation insurance coverage offered by Natural Habitat, we request that you send us documentation of the independent coverage you have selected. We will add the cost of a medical evacuation policy to your tour invoice until you provide our office with proof of coverage including your insurance company's name, contact number and your individual policy number. Thank you for understanding that our policy exists exclusively in the interest of our guests' safety.
