Ultimate Alaska Wildlife Safari
Alaska's Best, Most All-Encompassing Wildlife Adventure
While superlatives strive to convey the grandeur of Alaska, they never quite manage to capture the reality. Our “Ultimate Alaska Wildlife Safari” trip does, though. We take you far afield from the heavily touristed routes to get you up close to the real Alaska: to the inner heart of Denali; alongside the face of a calving glacier; at river’s edge, watching giant brown bears fish for salmon. This is Alaska “less discovered”: bigger, wilder and more amazing than you’ve imagined. You’ve got to see it for yourself.
- Our exclusive itinerary includes close-up grizzly viewing at Brooks Falls – a rare opportunity!
- Cruise aboard NHA's private yacht among icebergs and marine wildlife, and stay on a private island in Kenai Fjords
- Overnight at a deluxe backcountry lodge deep within Denali National Park, far from tourist crowds

Group Size Limit
Approximately 14 Travelers
A very important feature of our trips is the limited group size, as nature expeditions are best experienced with smaller groups of travelers. Our Ultimate Alaska Wildlife Safari group tour is no exception.
Included
Internal flights and train, accommodations, all meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast on Day 13 (except dinner on Days 6 & 9), bottled water, services of NHA Expedition Leader, local guides and lodge staff, most gratuities, airport transfers on Day 1 and final day, kayaking at Fox Island, permits and entrance fees, all taxes.
Not Included
Travel to and from start and end point of trip, dinner on Days 6 & 9, alcoholic beverages, some gratuities, passport and visa fees, optional activities, items of a personal nature (phone calls, souvenirs, etc.), airline baggage fees, airport and departure taxes, optional travel insurance.
Physical Requirements
Moderate / Flexible
The activities on our Alaska adventure are diverse. Although the longest walk required is one mile (to the falls in Katmai), longer walks and hikes are available for those who choose them. We stress that travelers are not required to participate in every activity.
Important Information
This trip ventures far afield from the typical Alaska tour where buses move long lines of cruise clients to crowded destinations. We also focus on bears, which, naturally, should be treated with caution. At Brooks Falls, thousands of visitors have traveled to view bears in the past 50 years and, to our knowledge, there has never been a bear attack. But we never know exactly what bears are thinking, so we ask our travelers to consider this and pay close attention to the rules set forth by the park rangers. Accommodations at Brooks Lodge are in shared quarters (4 to a cabin) with two bunkbeds and private facilities in each cabin. Solar power is available during daytime hours at Kenai Wilderness Lodge. All of our Hidden Alaska programs begin in Fairbanks and end in Anchorage.
Getting There & Getting Home
This trip begins in Fairbanks and ends in Anchorage. Arrive in Fairbanks, Alaska by 5pm on Day 1 of the program as we will have a 7pm dinner orientation. You are free to depart Anchorage anytime on the final day.
