Search for the Elusive Spirit Bear
Join Nat Hab Staff Naturalist Melissa Scott on a virtual journey through the wild valleys of Canada’s Coast Range in search of the elusive white spirit bear. Also called the Kermode bear, this creature of local legend is a rare genetic variant of the black bear, found only here. We'll also watch humpback whales play as we meander through the sheltered waters of some of the most remote coastal wilderness on earth. Look, too, for grizzlies, wolves and eagles with expert guides as we explore one of the earth’s most magnificent – and most at-risk – natural realms, the Great Bear Rainforest. Melissa will discuss how our distinctive itinerary facilitates close-up wildlife viewing in utter solitude, promoting a sense of oneness with our environment and its wild inhabitants.
