Location of Adventure
Botswana, Southern Africa
Group Size Limit
Approximately 7 Travelers
A very important feature of our trips is the limited group size as nature expeditions are best experienced with smaller sized groups of travelers.
Our Specialized 4x4 Land Rovers and Land Cruisers
An essential element of this safari is our use of a specialized vehicle, allowing for the unmatched wildlife viewing opportunities promised by Natural Habitat Adventures. We will use an open 4x4 Land Cruiser, with a unique suspension system and an open-top, open-sided, tiered seating arrangement, specially-designed to maximize wildlife viewing opportunities and comfort.

The vehicle has nine cushioned passenger seats, one in front next to the driver, followed by two rows of three seats each and a row of two seats at the back, though we limit our capacity to just seven travelers in the vehicle. There is a mini-fridge stocked with cold drinks and a small library with reference books and field guides. This custom-built vehicle sports front bull bars and runner boards, as well as a full recovery kit, including spare tires and a high lift jack. Vehicles are updated or replaced regularly and meticulously maintained to provide our guests with an unmatched safari experience.
Our Private Leaders
Included
Internal scheduled light aircraft flights, accommodations, airport transfers on Day 1 and final day, all meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast on final day, non-alcoholic drinks at camps and in vehicles, house alcoholic beverages in camps, laundry in camps, services of NHA Expedition Leader, local guides and lodge staff, some gratuities, all permits, entrance fees and taxes.
Not Included
Travel to and from start and end point of trip, premium alcoholic beverages, some gratuities, passport and visa fees, optional activities, items of a personal nature (phone calls, souvenirs, etc.), airline baggage fees, airport and departure taxes, optional travel insurance, and required medical evacuation insurance.
Physical Requirements
Easy
There is no strenuous activity involved while on this safari; however, a safari vehicle oftentimes offers a bumpy ride. There are long hours sitting and sometimes bouncing around during wildlife drives and while we don't consider this strenuous, it can be a different type of physical demand on the body. You must be able to climb into and out of these raised 4x4 trucks that serve as our safari vehicles, as well as walk to and from your safari accommodations. Additionally, while any short walks are considered optional, you will get the most out of your safari experience if you can walk a mile or two over uneven ground unassisted. We recommend that travelers have an adventurous spirit, as they will often enjoy the closest animal encounters.
Important Information About This Trip
We have designed this trip for those guests whose African dreams include the most remote wildlife experience available in comfortable bush accommodations. On these trips changes to the itinerary may occur in order to take advantage of conditions unique to the season. Depending upon availability, itineraries may run in a different order.
Mandatory Insurance
Since the areas we travel to on this trip are remote and wild (that's why we go there!), we require medical evacuation insurance for our guests' safety. If you decline the medical evacuation insurance coverage offered by Natural Habitat, we request that you send us documentation of the independent coverage you have selected. We will add the cost of a medical evacuation policy to your tour invoice until you provide our office with proof of coverage including your insurance company's name, contact number and your individual policy number. Thank you for understanding that our policy exists exclusively in the interest of our guests' safety.
Getting There & Getting Home
You must arrive in Maun, Botswana by 1:30 pm on Day 1 and you may depart Livingstone, Zambia anytime after 1 pm on the final day. We can best serve you if our Natural Habitat Adventures Travel Desk makes your reservations, as our staff is intimately familiar with the special requirements of these programs and can arrange the most efficient travel. Please call us at 1-800-543-8917. Note that while we offer you the best possible rates available to us on airfare and additional nights' accommodations, you may find special web rates or better fares online.
