Okavango Delta, Botswana
The Okavango Delta is an astonishing wildlife mecca. Where the river meets the sands of the Kalahari, a vast green oasis sprawls, drawing a profusion of game. Explore the maze of canals, lagoons and marshes by mokoro, a traditional dugout canoe. During the wet season, floodplains fill and animals congregate on the islands, offering exceptional viewing opportunities. The northern Okavango has deep water year-round, while the southern section provides exhilarating game drives, with a chance to see all the predators. Our camps in the heart of the delta offer a host of water-based and game-drive activities.
Chobe / Savuti / Linyanti, Botswana
The plains and rivers of the Chobe/Savuti/Linyanti region offer some of Africa’s most spectacular wildlife encounters. Botswana has enhanced conservation by encouraging sustainable small-scale tourism and remote private reserves, and the evidence of its success surrounds us. Northern Botswana has Africa’s largest elephant herds, some 70,000 animals. Predators abound, including lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog and hyena. Plains game includes red lechwe, zebra, wildebeest, impala, waterbuck, sable, roan, eland, kudu, buffalo and giraffe. The wetlands are home to myriad water birds. Our exclusive camps put us in the middle of the African wild at its most vibrant.
Kalahari Desert, Botswana
The Kalahari is one of the most austere places on earth. Millions of years old, its arid reaches composed the largest desert in the world. Vast sodawhite salt pans divulge the existence of what was once a huge inland sea. The annual rains bring a burst of life through desiccated cracks, drawing hungry game. This inhospitable landscape is home to a permanent array of adapted species, while others migrate to the seasonal springs during the rainy season. Our camps provide an oasis of luxury in the genuine back-of-beyond. Experience the unexpected magic of one of the world’s last great wildernesses.
Kafue National Park, Zambia
Kafue is one of the largest national parks in Africa. It encompasses over 13,000 square miles, an area roughly the size of Wales. It is famous for its abundant and diverse birdlife – over 500 species have been recorded, including Zambia’s only endemic one, Chaplin’s barbet. The diversity of mammals is also astounding – more than 150 species reside here. Leopards, cheetahs and large prides of lions are the primary predators, although the park is home to many smaller carnivores, including sidestriped jackals, civets, genets and mongooses. The park is also home to elephant, buffalo, sable, roan antelope, spotted hyena, puku, wild dog and red lechwe.
South Luangwa, Zambia
South Luangwa National Park covers about 3,500 square miles of the Luangwa Valley floor and offers one of the most remote wildlife experiences in Africa. The Luangwa River, with its rich vegetation, provides a habitat for fantastic concentrations of wildlife, including huge herds of elephant and buffalo and over 400 species of birds. The park’s dominant antelope species are impala and puku, with other antelope found, including the common waterbuck, bushbuck, eland, kudu, grysbok, oribi, reedbuck, Lichtenstein’s hartebeest, sable and roan. Unique species such as Thornicroft’s giraffe and Cookson’s wildebeest can also be seen. There are also hippo and crocodile, and the main predators are lion, leopard, spotted hyena and wild dogs. Cheetahs are also known to frequent the area.

Studies suggest that two-thirds of the world’s polar bear population could be gone by 2050. And if current warming trends continue unabated, WWF scientists and other researchers believe that polar bears may disappear altogether within 100 years. WWF is intent on preventing this from happening.
