Lewa Downs Conservancy
Lewa Downs is one of Africa’s most impressive private conservation successes. Established as a rhino sanctuary, it has helped return black and white rhinos from the brink of extinction. It also protects endangered Grevy’s zebra and sitatunga. We see these and a multitude of classic African game on safari drives, night drives and bush walks, with Mount Kenya in the distance. Camel and horseback rides are also available.
Amboseli National Park
Elephants abound here, and to see these African icons against the backdrop of snow-topped Mount Kilimanjaro is a timeless image of the continent. This mosaic of dry plains and swampy springs is also home to buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, impala, hyena, lion, leopard, cheetah and a third of Kenya’s nearly 1,100 bird species.
Masai Mara
Kenya’s Masai Mara is the northern portion of the Serengeti Plain. Game drives take us among myriad plains animals, including gazelle, impala, wildebeest, hartebeest, topi, zebra and giraffe. The Mara is famed for its lions, which may be hunting in the mornings and evenings and resting under trees during the day. Hyenas are also here in some of the largest numbers in Africa. Our tented camp provides an uncrowded safari experience.
Ngorongoro Crater
World-famous Ngorongoro Crater offers a wildlife encounter in an ancient caldera, home to Africa’s most dense concentration of wildlife, with some 30,000 animals. Twelve miles across, its sheer 2,000-foot walls enclose permanent fresh water, ensuring abundant game. We stay on the crater rim and drive down to often find zebra, wildebeest, eland, gazelles and predators, including lion, leopard and cheetah. We may also see the endangered black rhinoceros.
The Serengeti – Deluxe Mobile Tented Camp
The Serengeti is legendary. Here on Tanzania’s Great Plains, huge herds of wildebeest and zebra traverse the savannah with thousands of antelope, gazelle and giraffe, while the big cats race after prey. Our deluxe mobile camps ensure that we go where the wildlife is, getting even closer on daily game drives from camp. Our walk-in tents are reminiscent of the safari era of yesteryear, offering comfort and seclusion.
Tarangire National Park
Little-visited Tarangire boasts Tanzania’s largest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti. The Tarangire River courses through the red-dust plains and is the lifeblood for wildebeest, zebra, buffalo and elephant during the dry season. We also find two rare antelope, the fringe-eared oryx and gerenuk. In the swamps, we may see ground hornbills and Kori bustard, the world’s largest flying bird. Our deluxe camp provides restful amenities in this remote setting, or choose a mobile camp for an even more intimate experience of the African wild.

Studies suggest that two-thirds of the world’s polar bear population could be gone by 2050. And if current warming trends continue unabated, WWF scientists and other researchers believe that polar bears may disappear altogether within 100 years. WWF is intent on preventing this from happening.
