The traditional family-run guesthouse we use in the small fortress village of Dartlo is rustic but rich in local atmosphere, and our hosts' hospitality is legendary. Individual twin beds are comfortable, and shared showers have hot and cold water. Modern, clean toilets are also shared. Depending on the number of trip participants, we may have to share rooms, as several offer four- or six-bedded dorm-style configurations. Though no standard hotel accommodations are available in this remote region, our guests find that their stay in such a classic mountain property, with highly personal interactions with our hosts, more than makes up for any lack of privacy.
